3 Ways to Use Procreate for Door Hangers

Procreate is a great tool to use when it comes to planning and designing door hangers! I love using it to create a mockup of a finished project to paint or give to someone.

Making Style Decisions

I love Procreate because you can design your whole door hanger before you even sit down to paint. I have a specialty glitter brush in Procreate that I like to add to door hangers to see what it will look like if I added glitter. I like to use Procreate to add different borders to the edges. This is perfect when you’re ready to add finishing touches but stuck between what to do. You can take a picture of your door hanger, add it into Procreate, and figure out what your next step should be!

Custom Order Mock-ups

If you are selling door hangers, creating a mock-up is one of my favorite ways to use Procreate. It allows you to play with various fonts and colors so that you can give the customer an almost identical photo of what their finished door hanger will look like. In my example, I played with different fonts to give someone an option of how they’d like to customize their door hanger.

Another exciting feature of Procreate when using it for door hangers is the ability to change colors. You can select certain areas of a door hanger and then use the “Hue, Saturation, and Brightness” changer to change the color of the door hanger. This helps to give you and your customer an overall idea of what the completed door hanger looks like.

Planning Colors and Patterns

Procreate is a great app to use to plan colors and patterns. Every template that you get from www.shopdoorhangers.com comes with a black and white JPEG. I like to use this to plan how I am going to paint a door hanger. You can use this feature like a coloring page to color in what you want to do with your door hanger.

You can find patterned brushes to use for Procreate and then use those brushes to create a pattern on your door hanger mock-up.
