How to Repair a Broken Door Hanger

You know what’s worse than a broken wood blank? A broken painted door hanger. Don’t worry though because I’m going to show you how to repair a broken door hanger!

Grab Some Wood Glue

If you ever have a piece of MDF that breaks, all you have to do is glue it back together. If you’re careful sometimes it will fit together like a perfect puzzle piece. Using wood glue, put it right inside the break. If you have some rough looking spots, just smooth the wood glue over the areas to seal it up.

Clamp the Wood Pieces Together

It’s important to put something on the pieces that are glued together to clamp it. I used a close pin to hold the pieces together. Then you’re going to take a paper towel and wipe off any spots that might drip.

Cover Up The Break

Now that the break is fixed, all you need to do is sand it down a bit and apply paint. Once you’re done your piece is fixed and ready to paint. If it’s already painted you might just need to smooth that area then touch it up with paint. Being able to repair a broken door hanger is such a relief knowing that you don’t have to throw away the broken wood!
